Program description

Our Building (a project of Brooklyn Bridge Ventures, LLC) provides a private, building-scoped communications platform for residential buildings. The SMS alerts program lets verified residents of a participating building receive text messages from their own building's admins, board members, or superintendent for time-sensitive matters.

What messages you'll receive

• Emergency alerts: water shutoffs, gas leaks, fire alarm tests, security incidents, evacuations.
• Time-sensitive building notices from your admin or board (e.g. elevator outage, package room closed).
• One-time confirmation messages when you opt in or out.

You will not receive marketing, promotional, advertising, or third-party messages through this program. Messages are sent only by the admins of the specific building you are a verified resident of.

Message frequency

Frequency varies. In a typical month, residents receive between 0 and 4 messages. Frequency can be higher during a building emergency.

Message and data rates

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Our Building does not charge a fee for receiving these messages.

How to opt in

Opt-in happens inside the Our Building app, after you have created an account and joined your building. On the dedicated SMS alerts page, residents review this program description, enter the mobile number where they want to receive alerts, and check an unchecked-by-default box that reads:

I agree to receive SMS messages from Our Building for my building, including emergency alerts (water shutoffs, fire alarm tests, security incidents) and time-sensitive notices from my building's admins or board. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to unsubscribe.

A public preview of the opt-in screen — including this exact disclosure — is available at ourbuilding.app/sms-opt-in-preview for carrier and 10DLC reviewers who do not have a resident account.

Consent is logged with a timestamp, the exact text shown, IP address, and user agent. Phone numbers and SMS opt-in data are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

How to opt out

Reply STOP to any message at any time. You can also turn off SMS alerts from your profile inside the app, or revoke consent from the SMS alerts page. After opting out, you will receive a single confirmation message and no further SMS messages.

Supported carriers

Available on major US carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, and most regional carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy

Phone numbers collected for this program are used solely to deliver the messages described above. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Full details are in our Privacy Policy. Program operation is governed by our Terms of Service.
